Super Bowl LIV Set

Updated: Jan 21, 2020

The 2019 NFL playoffs has featured great games from top to bottom. The Tennessee Titans came into the AFC playoffs as the sixth seed and was truly the cinderella team throughout this year's playoffs. The rushing attack of Derrick Henry who averaged 148.7 rushing yards during this postseason, and the rest of the Titans ran through Boston and the third seed New England Patriots in a game that wasn't really as close as the score indicated. The Titans held their own and won 20-13. The AFC's number one seed and overall best record in the NFL this season at 14-2, the Baltimore Ravens, had no answer for Henry or the Titans in general for that matter as the Titans went into the Baltimore and won 28 - 12. But Tennessee's cinderella season ended in cold Kansas City as the number two seed Chiefs beat the Titans 35-24 in the AFC Championship game. There were two separate occasions where the Titans held a 10 point lead, 10-0 and then 17-7, but the Tennessee defense couldn't hold the Chiefs and their high powered offense lead by QB Patrick Mahomes. The AFC stage is set by the Kansas City Chiefs.

In the NFC, there were many storylines that played out. First the Minnesota Vikings going into New Orleans to play the Saints. Two years ago in the playoffs up in Minnesota, Stefon Diggs broke the Saints heart in a last second catch and run to eliminate the Saints from the playoffs. Back to this year, the Saints were one of the teams that was expected to be playing in Miami two Sunday's from now. Quarterback Kirk Cousins and the Vikings had another scenario for the Saints and the 'Who Dat' nation. Another last second pass, this time Cousins to TE Kyle Rudolph as the Viking sent the Saints to their couches for the rest of the playoffs with a 26-20 win. The number six seed in the NFL then travelled out west and was then ousted from the playoffs by the NFC's number one seed San Francisco 49ers 27-10. The 49ers then kept their home field advantage by beating the Green Bay Packers 37-20. The NFC stage is set by the San Francisco 49ers.

So the Super Bowl is set as the Kansas City Chiefs will play the San Francisco 49ers in what is set to be a high scoring game. Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana who played for both teams but won two Super Bowls with the 49ers tweeted this out with this picture:

@JoeMontanaYou heard from me first. I GUARANTEE my team will win the SUPER BOWL!! 2:46 PM · Jan 20, 2020·Twitter for Android22.6K Retweets160K Likes

This is sure to be a great game, maybe has the likings of the best Super Bowl in the 54 year history.
